A proper independent tap in Newhaven
Newhaven Tap is an independent micropub at 29A High Street in the centre of Newhaven, East Sussex. Opened in 2026, the Tap keeps things deliberately straightforward: proper beer, good people and a welcoming room where the focus stays on the drink and the conversation. Cask and real ales sit alongside real cider and other carefully chosen drinks, with the line-up changing as new beers arrive.
If you enjoy well-kept beer rather than a fixed national range, the changing board is part of the appeal. Some visits may bring familiar styles, while others introduce something new from independent breweries.
